Funding Sources

Member Companies

More than 400 companies support ICNC through their annual membership dues and contributions.

 

Business Opportunity Members

Local and city-wide organizations which provide services to Kinzie companies support ICNC through annual “Business Opportunity” membership dues and contributions.

 

City of Chicago, Department of Planning and Development (DPD)

Through its Local Industrial Retention Initiative program,  DPD provides funding to ICNC to further its mission of retaining and strengthening industry in the corridor.

 

Mayor’s Office of Workforce Development (MOWD)

MOWD provides funding for ICNC’s Business Employment Services (BES), which links Kinzie Corridor employers to qualified job candidates, primarily from the local area. BES also companies in enhancing workforce development and productivity.

 

State of Illinois – Department of Commerce & Economic Opportunity (DCEO)

DCEO supports various ICNC programs through the following grants:

  • Illinois Small Business Development Center; which provides counseling and coaching to small or start-up businesses

  • Employee Training Investment Program; which reimburses employers up to half of qualified employee training expenses

  • Digital Divide; which provides access to technology for local area job seekers, employees and entrepreneurs.

LISC – Local Initiative Support Corporation

For several years, ICNC has received support from LISC for summer intern positions.  LISC provided $10,000 in support in 2003 when it named ICNC as “Non-Profit Community Building Organization of the Year” at the Chicago Neighborhood Development Awards.

 

Banks and Foundations

Banks and foundations assist ICNC through event sponsorships and contributions. Recent bank contributors include MB Financial, Ravenswood Bank, Chase, LaSalle Bank, Harris Bank, American Chartered, Banco Popular and Cole Taylor Bank.

 

Fulton Carroll Center Incubator

FCC receives the majority of its funds through tenant rents.   FCC’s small business tenants also receive business development services through various grants and contributions.
