Currently, this role is part-time, with potential for this to turn into a full-time position as we continue to expand and with the right candidate.
The Role:
As our Assistant Kitchen Manager, you will play a critical role in our company's success. Working alongside our production team, you will be responsible for managing the kitchen operations, ensuring our snacks are prepared to the highest standard, and managing inventory and ordering. You will also be responsible for ensuring that the kitchen is compliant with all health and safety regulations, and that our products are consistent in quality and flavor.

As our Assistant Kitchen Manager, you will play a critical role in our company's success. Working alongside our production team, you will be responsible for managing the kitchen operations, ensuring our snacks are prepared to the highest standard, and managing inventory and ordering. You will also be responsible for ensuring that the kitchen is compliant with all health and safety regulations, and that our products are consistent in quality and flavor.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage daily kitchen operations and production schedules
- Manage kitchen staff and train any new staff
- Ensure consistency in product quality
- Ensure products are prepared and packaged to the highest standard
- Manage inventory and ordering, ensuring we have enough ingredients to meet production needs
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including maintaining proper sanitation standards and documentation
- Assist with product development, testing, and refinement
- Assist with optimization of production processes where needed
- Ensure kitchen and kitchen equipment is properly maintained and serviced
- Assisting in prepping and shipping orders when needed
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as an Assistant Kitchen Manager or a similar role in the food industry
- Experience mixing and baking at a high-volume capacity
- Passion for food, sustainability, and did we mention, snacks?!
- Strong leadership and management skills
- Strong organization skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Experience in inventory management and ordering
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations
- Strong baking skills and knowledge of various cooking techniques
- Interest in packaged food production and manufacturing
- Excitement and passion to become part of a growing start-up business snack team and enthusiasm about helping us grow
- Experience in recipe ideation and creation, a plus!
Education/Certifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Culinary degree or certification is preferred, but not required
- ServSafe Manager’s Certificate is required (at minimum you must have a ServSafe Certification and Allergy Certification. If you do not have a Manager’s certification, we will work with you to obtain)
