Vector is seeking to hire a full-time steel detailer to assist in creating fabrication drawings for our shop. Remote and onsite work will be required.

Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret architectural/design drawings to identify scope of work and design intent
- Determine appropriate solutions in conjunction with project manager and sales team
- Learn and understand shop fabrication processes to provide optimal design communication and promote workflow
- Model buildable design solutions and produce detailed 2D drawings for customer approval and shop fabrication
- Take accurate field measurements and adjust drawings as required
- Check drawings and materials lists for errors
- Produce material lists and drawings for purchasing as required
- Produce detailed bills of materials for accurate production and product delivery
- Coordinate with supervisors, customers, engineers, architects, project managers, shop fabricators, and other trades and subcontractors to produce an excellent finished product, on time and under budget
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor of Fine Arts degree preferred, but not required
- Associates Degree or Technical training in CAD drafting a plus
- Minimum 3 years experience 3D modeling required. Proficiency in SolidWorks is preferred, but experience with Tekla, Advanced Steel, Rhino, Sketchup etc is a plus
- Proficiency in 2D AutoCAD required
- Strong communication skills, written and verbal, including email correspondence, record keeping, and hand sketches for use with team members, vendors and customers.
- Basic proficiency in Word, Excel, Acrobat
- Strong attention to detail and ability to complete various tasks on multiple projects
- Self-motivated problem solver, eager to learn new skills and put them to the test in a collaborative, fast paced environment
- Strong interest in metal fabrication, especially sculpture and architectural metals
- Experience in manufacturing processes, techniques and materials
- Knowledge of hand and power tools and any fabricating experience greatly helpful
