Delivery Technician - Chicago, IL

A medical supply company has a need for a Delivery Technician. The right person would be responsible for performing some of the daily activities that support a successful warehouse operation in addition to delivering Durable Medical Equipment (DME) to clinics and medical facilities. The DME Technician may also be responsible for product care and maintenance, product repair, product cleaning, vehicle care and maintenance, and tracking inventory.
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
-Performing daily warehouse activities that may include any or all of the following:
  • Cleaning and sanitizing equipment returned to warehouse
  • Removing faulty assets from circulation; troubleshooting faulty units, repairing, and returning back to available inventory
  • Organizing equipment and paperwork for Service Technicians
  • Logging incoming and outgoing asset items
  • Maintaining a clean and sanitary warehouse
  • Receiving incoming shipments, updating inventory levels, and recording packing slips
  • Overseeing outgoing equipment, adjusting inventory levels, and creating packing slips
-Delivery and stocking of DME in clinics and medical facilities, which may include any or all of the following:
  • Maintaining a working knowledge of DME
  • Driving safely and defensively, obeying all traffic laws
  • Providing a safe environment for the customers and patients at all times
  • Completing required paperwork upon delivery/stocking
  • Filling in for other Service Technicians if needed, including nights and weekends

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • General exposure to hospitals and surgery centers
  • Sitting and standing for prolonged periods of time (up to/exceeding 8 hours per day)
  • General/mild exposure to hazardous chemicals (non-flammable/nontoxic)
  • Fast-paced environment, subject to numerous schedule and priority changes

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must have a valid and current driver's license in the state applicant resides
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Dedication to providing outstanding customer service
  • Must have a strong customer service orientation
  • Must be willing and able to work overtime, including some evenings and weekends
  • Ability to safely lift, push or pull up to 150 lbs
  • Must work/drive safely in all aspects of the job
  • Previous driving/delivery experience preferred
  • Previous DME experience is preferred, but not required; training is provided

$16
