How we make an impact: Did you know that small businesses are integral to creating jobs, building regional economies, and impacting society? At the Kinzie Industrial Development Corporation, we live and breathe economic and community development. The Kinzie Industrial Development Corporation “KIDC”, the charitable foundation of ICNC, spurs economic development by providing small business owners with comprehensive workforce development services such as personnel management policies, job description development, job postings, human resources seminars, interviewing, and background screenings.
In addition to the local hiring by the small businesses that we support, KIDC also engages directly with the community by offering an Emergency Medical Technician “EMT” training program. The EMT training program is designed to provide women with the technical training and skills necessary to obtain a professional career and a sustainable salary in the healthcare industry. The workforce development services and the EMT training program that are operated by KIDC are an ideal complement to the one-on-one business advising services that are offered by ICNC.
Why we need YOUR support: KIDC helps small businesses grow and promotes sustainable employment opportunities within the City of Chicago. Your support will enable KIDC to continue the essential business advising and workforce development services that it offers emerging entrepreneurs.

Testimonials
"Priscilla, Kelly, Don,
I received my official license in the mail this past Saturday. I had an interview scheduled with Superior Ambulance yesterday and was offered a position as an EMT-B. I begin my new career path on Feb. 8th! Thank you for giving me the opportunity to become an EMT. I greatly appreciate all the knowledge and training you have given me. You gave me the tools to become successful and I am so grateful. You all helped me to begin to change the lives of my family for the better. (that's a total of 10 people and 1 dog) Words cannot express my gratitude. Please reach out to me if you need help with the next class, I look forward to sharing my knowledge with others." Sincerely, Gina R. (EMT-B Graduate) |
“ICNC's placement service was a great help to me in finding a new Office Manager. I sent Priscilla a job description and after she gave me some helpful advice on the job market and appropriate salary range for our position, she took it from there… I am confident that ICNC helped me find a much better candidate with much less effort than I possibly could have on my own”.

"The ICNC has helped my company evolve and grow. It offers more than just a great location to put a company. There is a sense of community that has allowed me to share ideas with other entrepreneurs, helping fine tune the ideas before putting them into action. The entire ICNC staff also is supportive, helping solve business problems. The ICNC is a great resource for a growing company."
