Electro-Mechanical Assembler/Warehouse Worker - Chicago, IL

Assemble products using a variety of tools and equipment according to required specifications. Work in coordination with Production team members in all stages of production and shipping.  

Essential Duties and Responsibilities, including but not limited to:
  • Read, interpret, and follow diagrams, engineering drawings, specifications, bill of materials, and other written instructions or procedures to accurately assemble products.
  • Utilize hand held tools such as handheld screw and drill gun and soldering iron
  • Utilize mechanical tools such as rivet machine or drill press
  • Utilize multi-meter
  • Maintain inventory of product in work station
  • Perform quality work checks to ensure product meets quality standards
  • Identify product defects and complete appropriate documentation when defects are identified
  • Rework and/or repair assembled parts and products according to engineering specification changes
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area
  • Notify the Production Manager of production issues, malfunction and low inventory stock levels
  • Accurately label and pack product
  • Reading and comprehending instructions and following established procedures
  • Picking all material and equipment needed to begin production process
  • Perform inventory cycle counts and audits. Review inventory variances and provide explanations as needed.  Suggest and execute corrective actions as needed.

Secondary Duties and Responsibilities – serve as back up for shipping/receiving if or when needed:
  • Preparing items for international and domestic shipping - picking, packing, checking and   shipping orders
  • Receive goods and verify that product and quantities received match packing slip/Bill of Lading.  Log, unpack, count and examine incoming shipments
  • Load and unload trucks utilizing a pallet jack
  • Schedule incoming and outgoing shipments with carriers
  • Stock shelves and rotate merchandise
  • Maintain and process inventory documentation including move orders, receiving log and location pull sheets
  • Provide freight quotes and other shipping related information to the Customer Service department upon request

Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to maintain regular, punctual attendance
  • Must be able to grip, grasp or twist using your hands and wrists regularly during your shift
  • Must be able to perform repetitive tasks
  • Regularly lift 30 – 50 lbs
  • While performing job, employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, stoop, kneel or crouch

Qualifications:
  • Logical and methodological approach to problem solving and troubleshooting
  • Flexible, with the ability to work  independently with minimal supervision
  • Basic computer and mechanical skills
  • Ability to read and speak English fluently
  • Ability to multitask
  • Must work and communicate well with co-workers
  • Ability to count and perform basic mathematical operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division)
  • Minimum of one year assembly experience preferred

Education:
  • High school diploma or GED

Benefits:
Excellent benefits package including health, dental, vision and life insurance. Paid holidays, vacation and sick time.

Hourly Rate:
$14.00-15.00
