Genieco

1.  How long have you been in business?  Genieco was founded in 1923 as the Hindu Incense company.

2.  How did you get started?  Bought out of bankruptcy by a Lithuanian immigrant by the name of Radzukinski.  Paid $500.

3.  What’s unique about your story or business?  Incense may not be totally unique.  It’s more like niche(e).  Not a lot of these companies around in the US, unlike India or china.

4. What is the biggest challenge you have faced in business and how did you overcome it?  Biggest challenge has been overcoming the stigma of being directly associated with the use of marijuana. We went to the big chain stores with a story of Halloween incense, moved on to Thanksgiving and Christmas. Never been the same since.  We are now in over 40,000 stores in the US and in 14 countries.

5. Please list a few of your most recent accomplishments: Rite Aid, Family Dollar and Walmart.
