Kitchen Assistant @ Geem - Chicago, IL

Geem is an Asian snack food company.
 
Responsibilities and Duties:​
  • Prepare and bake a variety of seaweed snack products according to established recipes and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with the founder to develop and refine flavors.
  • Assist with ingredient inventory management to ensure smooth production flow.
  • Adhere to food safety and sanitation guidelines to maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Collaborate with the team to meet production targets and quality control standards

Qualifications:
​
  • Passion for food innovation.
  • Food handlers license, manager preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.
 
Working Conditions:
  • Physical requirements:
    • ability to Lift/Carry Boxes up to 50 lbs
    • operate freight elevator
    • move pallets using a manual and/or electric pallet jack
  • Interest/ability to help with waste reduction and environmental impact efforts
  • Fully vaccinated against COVID-19

Position Structure & Benefits:
  • July to September contract
  • Hours: 10-15 hours a week (Very flexible on when)
  • Pay: $20-25/hour depending on experience
