Kitchen Manager (Part-Time)

About FOR GOOD GRANOLA

To date, For Good Granola has given over 10% of all revenue to organizations that support and elevate kids and adults with disabilities. This is a cause incredibly important to our chef and founder who is a mom to two superhero daughters who live with significant disabilities.

For Good Granola is seeking an experienced Kitchen Manager at their shared-kitchen facility in La Grange Park, IL (La Grange Rd and Ogden Ave).
  • Part time at 12 hours per week, or two 6-hour shifts (Wed, Fri and/or Saturday 1pm-7pm)
  • Hourly rate: $18-20/hr based on experience
  • Opportunity for additional hours

The Kitchen Manager will be responsible for producing a consistent and high-quality granola product. They must have the ability to keep an organized kitchen, be an efficient producer and pay close attention to the baking process to ensure a high-quality output.

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Independent hands-on production of all stages of granola making through packaging
    • pre-production (scaling of ingredients and mixing), baking, final mix-in
    • packaging of 5 varieties of granola
  • Adherence of all safety and sanitation requirements during production
  • Cleaning of kitchen at end of every shift, including, but not limited to
    • Dishwashing
    • Sweeping
    • Sanitizing work surfaces
  • Ability to work additional hours as retail growth requires, including weekends

Qualifications
  • Must have or be able to obtain a ServSafe Food Manager Certification within 30 days of hiring
  • Ability to closely follow standardized recipes
  • Experience (and enjoys) working in a commercial kitchen
  • Strong communicator and confidence to work independently
  • Self-motivated, organized, efficient, careful quality to detail, pride in output
  • Ability to carry and lift up to 50lbs at a time
  • Minimum high school education or equivalent
  • Willingness to sign a non-disclosure agreement for recipe and production process
  • A kitchen stage is required before being hired.
