Kitchen Production Manager (Part-time/Flexible Schedule) @ Pies of London - Chicago, IL

Pies of London is a fast-growing English savory pie shop using the highest quality ingredients in making our delicious handheld pies. Our pies are lovingly made to give you the experience of an authentic English pie in different varieties without getting on an airplane. Each handheld pie is baked with love and it shows. We offer premium and gourmet pies using Amish chicken, Angus beef, organic flour, organic mushrooms and organic carrots. We also use real butter and lard just like we do in the old country.
 
Pies of  London is an English meat pie food company located in the Hatchery (135 N Kedzie) is in need of an experienced Kitchen Production Manager (Part-time) (M-W or Tues – Thurs). 8 hours per day. Hourly rate: $17.50 to $20/hr based upon experience
 
Job Overview:

The Kitchen Production Manager has an opportunity to create a product unlike anything else in the United States. She/he is an organized, efficient food producer with careful attention to quality. She/he enjoys being in the kitchen, creating wholesome and delicious products for customers. The Kitchen Production Manager will oversee production and assist in the production of different fillings for our meat pies while ensuring consistent quality and enhancing kitchen operations.
 
Responsibilities and Duties:
  • Communicating when supplies are low
  • Manage and schedule staff 
  • Ability to perform all tasks in the pie production process
  • Coordinate and communicate with external delivery services
  • Be a hands on kitchen producer
  • Ability to work additional hours when needed during festival weekends

Qualifications:
  • Must have or be able to obtain a ServSafe Food Manager Certification within 30 days of employment.
  • Ability to read and understand recipes
  • Minimum High School Education or equivalent
  • Good communication skills
  • Experience working in a commercial kitchen, managing a production process on her/his own or with a team
  • Self-motivated, organized, efficient, careful quality to detail
  • Interest in making healthy wholesome savory pie fillings
  • Able to carry 40-50lbs at a time (just for moving product occasionally)
 
Hours:
Open 3 days a week No weekends presently.
 
Training will be compensated and a stage is required for this position.
