ICNC is a non-profit organization that works to strengthen the companies in the Kinzie Industrial Corridor on Chicago's Near West Side. In addition to representing and providing assistance to hundreds of companies in its community, ICNC owns and operates Make City, a small business incubator which houses 100 small business tenants in its 416,000 square foot facility.
ICNC also co-owns the Hatchery, a food and beverage manufacturing incubator in Chicago’s East Garfield Park neighborhood which assists food & beverage entrepreneurs grow their businesses. This facility is a one-stop-shop aiming to solve three major challenges in the industry: access to production space, financing, and resources.

POSITION DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
The Marketing Specialist is responsible for implementing strategic marketing efforts and managing day-to-day communication for all ICNC brands both internally and externally for the continued, strategic development of the West Side of Chicago This a full-time position reports directly to the Marketing Communications Manager.

The Marketing Specialist is responsible for implementing strategic marketing efforts and managing day-to-day communication for all ICNC brands both internally and externally for the continued, strategic development of the West Side of Chicago This a full-time position reports directly to the Marketing Communications Manager.
Marketing
- Maintain and implement brand guidelines and style guides for all professional communication, including letterhead, color guides, and email signatures
- Adhere to brand guidelines of external vendors, partners, and sponsors
- Develop innovative marketing campaigns through market research
- Create graphics for marketing materials
- Package promotional kits and deliver to guest speakers, event leaders, and others as assigned
- Create, distribute, and innovate monthly newsletters and weekly emails for ICNC and its brands
- Gather marketing analytics and data, and propose new strategies for campaign success
- Identify opportunities to promote ICNC’s work and deliver content such as press releases to media
- Develop and implement social media strategy and editorial calendar across platforms
- Write copy and schedule social media content for all ICNC incubators
- Review and track social media trends and channels, providing strategic input
- Monitor member social media accounts and develop appropriate ways to promote member news and updates
- Manage organization’s online presence and reply to online inquiries as brand representative
- Manage organization-wide website by updating content, monitoring effectiveness, and creating improvements
- Attend continued education events/workshops for professional development
Communications
- Support and coordinate media relations
- Lead internal marketing communications, including but not limited to: program updates, entrepreneurial success stories, advocacy campaign updates, and more
- Work closely with Advocacy and Economic Development Specialist to support ICNC’s mission and ongoing advocacy campaigns with local business owners
- Develop board and annual reports
- Manage systems for both internal and external marketing requests from staff, entrepreneurs, and community partners
- Assist with organization-wide events as needed
- Perform other marketing-related tasks as required
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or a related field
- 3 years of direct work experience in a marketing capacity
- Basic knowledge of graphic design
- Work experience in the not-for-profit sector a plus
- Demonstrated proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, CRMs, and Email Marketing Platforms
- Excellent analytical skills and a knack for data analysis
- Skilled in writing and editing content with an attention to detail
- Strong prioritization, organization, and project management skills
- Strong presentation, written and verbal communication skills
- Positive, collaborative attitude with a passion for ICNC’s mission and values
- Willingness to work flexible, varying hours, including occasional evenings and weekends as needed

POSITION STRUCTURE & BENEFITS/INCENTIVES
- This is a full-time, salaried position; Monday-Friday, work schedule can vary; with the ability to work remote up to 40-80% of work week after initial training/orientation period
- Starting annual salary range is $51,400-$57,780; commensurate with experience
- Benefit incentives include: one week paid vacation to start, one week personal/sick time off and twelve paid holidays, participation in group health insurance plan, simple IRA match, short and long term disability, life insurance, tuition reimbursement, professional development training, flexible spending accounts and employee assistance program
- This position is eligible to participate in ICNC’s Great Game of Business growth incentive bonus plan
