Operations Assistant @ Hoppy Planet Foods - Chicago, IL
Overview: Hoppy Planet Foods is a fast growing CPG company whose mission is to make delicious, more nutritious, and sustainable food products. We do this by using Acheta Protein in all of our snacks, which are sold under the Hoppy Planet Foods and EXO brands. The company has meaningful sales in both major retail partners as well as via eCommerce. The company is planning a rapid expansion in 2022, and is seeking an Operations Assistant to expand its team beyond the company’s founders for the first time.
Role: The Operations Assistant role will support the day-to-day needs of our Supply Chain & Logistics. This is a crucial role for the company as it helps ensure that we have products to sell when and where we need them! While initially focused on Operations to start, there is an ability to expand the role according to the interests of the person in it. As a young company there are constantly new work streams and areas of work to be done that are potential roles this person can grow into. You will be working directly with the CEO and co-founder of the company.
The primary responsibilities of the Operations Assistant may include:
Workload: The work for this role tends to come in peaks and valleys, most strongly driven by product production runs every 4-8 weeks. On average, we expect this role to require 5-8 hours per week of work, dispersed throughout the week. Should the candidate be interested in taking on other areas of work, this position can be expanded up to 10-12 hours per week.
Compensation: The pay rate for this role will be between $18 - $30 per hour depending on experience.

- Inventory management across platforms
- Shipping logistics and fulfillment partnerships
- Supplier paperwork (as needed)
- Customer Service Emails (generally few and mostly relate to fulfillment issues)
