Packaging Operator PAID Internship @ BaKIT Box - Chicago, IL

We are a specialty baking kit company offering culturally diverse kits. We have been in business 1.5 years.

​Internship Description & Objectives:
The intern will learn the ins and outs of our operations and fulfillment. They will work directly with our Operations lead on the entire process from when an order is placed to when it is shipped out. They will observe the management skills and style of both myself, CEO, and our operations lead which is invaluable experience! They will have the ability to learn more about the business in other functions if they so choose. If so, we can set up meetings for knowledge share with other functional leads. 
  • Support the operations manager in production of product.
  • Coordinate with operations manager on what orders to process for what shipment date.
  • Ensure there is enough inventory to cover orders.
  • Communicate with operations manager on inventory gaps and requirements.
  • Produce and package orders.
  • Ensure quality control by inspecting product before shipping.
  • Any other Services related or arising from the foregoing described Services that may be required by Company from time to time.

Required Skills:
  • Be over the age of 18
  • Authorized to work in the United States – must have valid Social Security Number for payroll
  • Have ServSafe Food Handler Certificate (or be willing to obtain prior to start date)
  • Must be vaccinated against Covid-19
  • Strong communication
  • Attention to detail & organized
  • Ability to follow clear directions
  • Have some knowledge of baking and ingredients used in baking

Additional Requirements:
  • Complete a 2-4 hour stage (aka trial run)
  • Slip resistant shoes

Number of Hours per Week:
15-20 hours per week

Schedule:
Weekly schedule is flexible and can be tailored to the intern.

$16.00/hour
