Pastry Assistant (Part-time) - Chicago, IL

Pastry Assistant needed at Ice Cream Cake Company located within The Hatchery at 135 N. Kedzie, Chicago, IL 60612.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for preparing ice cream and baked goods as directed by Pastry Chef
  • Decorating ice cream cakes and pastries
  • Organizing high volume pastry production procedures and meeting all deadlines

Qualifications:
  • Skilled in the following areas: cake making, cake decorating, ice cream / sorbet and pastry plating, pastry production and time management
  • HACCP knowledge a plus
  • Passion about the industry and excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to bake and prepared according to specification
  • Proactive personality, who is strongly self organized
  • Capable to work independently as well as in a team environment
  • Ability to stand for a prolonged period of time necessary
  • Ability to complete assigned tasks within the given time in order to meet strict deadlines
  • Ability to move, lift, carry, pull or push as needed
  • ServSafe Food handling license required

HOURS:
10:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Tuesday through Friday. 10-20 hours a week. Hours may increase in a few months.

SALARY:
$15.00
