Prep Cook Internship - Chicago, IL

Sweet Polly kitchen it's a Chicago-based boutique catering company that specialize in bringing wholesome healthy Southern Soulful Cuisine without compromising the taste, flavor and the authentic. When comes to quality there's no limitations. We believe transparency is the key to providing superior customer service. 

Internship Description & Objectives:
The Intern will be helping with prep work. Cutting up fruit and veggies. Cooking pasta, cutting chicken. They will learn the basic culinary skills as well some advanced skills such as improving cutting techniques, how to cook pasta properly, and how to make various sauces and dressings.

Required Skills:
  • Have some knowledge in basic cutting skills.

Additional Requirements:
  • We will do a basic 3hr skill assessment
  • Must have ServSafe Food Handler Certificate (if you don’t have prior, ICNC will help you obtain)
  • Knife kit, including potato peeler
  • Slip resistant shoes
  • Be willing to travel different locations

Number of Hours per Week:
20 hours per week

Schedule:
  • Tuesdays: 7am to 3:30pm
  • Wednesdays: 1pm to 5pm
  • Thursdays: 1pm to 5pm
  • Sundays: 11am to 4pm

The Hatchery @ 135 N Kedzie Ave. Chicago, IL 60612

Hourly Rate:
$13.50/hour
