The Production Technician is a crucial role and will report directly to the Production Manager. This part-time role is responsible for all steps in the emulsification process including weighing and measuring ingredients, mixing the ingredients and processing the coarse emulsion into a final emulsion ready for delivery to our customers. All products created at Perfectly Dosed will be held to the highest of quality and consistency standards. The role is based in a highly compliant laboratory setting. An applicant for this role should be able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, highly motivated, and detail-oriented.
PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE
The ideal candidate would have previous experience with cannabinoid extraction in a state-approved laboratory environment including familiarity with cannabis-infused products, extraction techniques, and food chemistry. Other desirable include experience as a chemist, chemical or biochemical engineering in related fields including food processing, distillation, brewing, and essential oils. Ideal candidates should have experience working in a highly regulated laboratory that adheres to strict health & safety policies and procedures. We will train a candidate who lacks experience but possesses the right attitude.

POSITION ACTIVITIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for the preparation, emulsification, and post-emulsification processing of hemp products in accordance with State and local standards
- Performs all assigned duties required to ensure a clean and safe production facility
- Perform routine cleaning and maintenance of all equipment and facilities
- Follows all defined current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) to ensure the highest level of product safety
- Completes the sanitation of all production equipment and tools including workspace, lab equipment, containers, and appliances
- Assists with the creation of batch production records and labels in accordance with State and local standards
- Assist with the weighing, packaging, labeling, and documentation of all products as well as the tracking of batch numbers, lot numbers, and expiration dates
- Ensures the appropriate information is accurate and listed clearly in accordance with the State and local standards
- Ensures consistency and efficacy of product through quality control testing and procedures
- Works with local, State-approved laboratory to send samples for regular testing of extracted product and document all results for compliance with State regulations
- Ability to master and control all equipment in a laboratory-type environment including scales, mixers, pumps, high pressure homogenizers, pasteurizers, bulk batch production, and portioning
- Ability to work on process development and improvement and document all production and batch reports
- Ability to follow SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures)
- Create a proactive and positive environment while meeting and exceeding personal and company goals
- Work towards meeting department goals around efficiencies, yields, and cost
- Willingness to fill in and assist in other facility areas if necessary
- Ability to follow regulations through daily operations
- Proficient in good documentation practices - research and data organization skills
- Experience following strict SOPs
- Acute problem-solving skills coupled with a strong mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to communicate effectively and work well with others
- Able to stand for extended periods, and kneel, stoop, bend, twist, in tight areas
- Must be able to lift 10lbs with each hand and pick up to 50 lbs
- Repetitive use of hands for all functions
- Knowledge of hemp law and medicinal benefits (Preferred)
- Knowledge in pharmaceutical formulation and/or brewing (Preferred)
- At least 21 years of age
- 1+ years of industry experience (Preferred)
- 2+ years of laboratory experience (Preferred)
EDUCATION
- Bachelor’s or advanced degree in chemistry, biochemistry, engineering, natural sciences, or related fields preferred.
