Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Work as a team leader with volunteers.
- Manage a large caseload of isolated seniors. Various positions open in Chicago neighborhoods.
- Visit seniors in their residence: nursing homes, senior buildings, or single-family homes.
- Arrange outings and activities and, using your own vehicle with mileage reimbursement, drive seniors to/from outings and activities.
- Work as part of a team and assist in coordinating parties, events, luncheons, etc.
- Plan and coordinate an annual 4-day vacation for seniors.
- Work the day before, the day of, and the day after one of the two major holidays (Thanksgiving and Christmas and Easter).
- Data entry
- Respond to a crisis with compassion, understanding, and flexibility.
- Build and nurture relationships with community partners.
- Other responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements:
- The desire to work with and build relationships with volunteers.
- Experience in working with the elderly or adults with disabilities.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Self-motivated.
- Well-developed time management skills.
- Computer literacy.
- Possess an automobile and have a clear driving record.
- Maintain a valid driver’s license and appropriate insurance coverage.
- BA/BS degree.
