Part-Time Line Cook (3-6 positions) - Chicago, IL
Part–time Line cook position in a food truck. Trucks are located in various Chicago neighborhoods (Avondale, West Side, River North, South Loop and 4 additional trucks will be added) 3-6 positions. The Line Cook works under a Kitchen Supervisor or Assistant Kitchen Supervisor and each line cook is assigned a place on the line, such as the grill, fryer, saute or expediter.

Hourly Rate:
$15.00 - $16.00

Skills and/or Experience:
- 1-2 years of line cook experience required
- Operational knowledge of hospitality equipment
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize

- Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks
- Excellent Knowledge of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures
- Familiar with industry's best practices
Work Environment:
- Must be comfortable working in a shared space, with constant noise, without the use of a private office
- Must be able to cope with frequent changing priorities and deadlines with a high degree of optimism, professionalism & collaboration
- Schedules may vary from week to week based on business demands. Weekends and holiday availability is required
Responsibilities:
- Sets up and stocking stations with all necessary supplies
- Handles, stores and rotates all products properly
- Cooks menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff
- Follows Kitchen Supervisor’s instructions at all times
- Follows proper techniques and proper presentation for all dishes
- Ensures that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality and in a timely fashion
- Practices correct food handling and food storage procedures according to company and state regulations
- Complies with all nutrition, sanitation and safety regulations and standards
- Maintains a positive, respectful, professional approach, communication and workplace conduct with team members
- Reports all unsafe working conditions, operational needs and equipment or aspects of the kitchen in need of repair to management
