Reports To: Kitchen Supervisor
Status: Part-time to full-time, non-exempt.
Overview:
The Production Cook is responsible for assisting in production in commissary house-made food items, catering production and assembly, inventory product care, as well as participating in regular location inventories.

Overview:
The Production Cook is responsible for assisting in production in commissary house-made food items, catering production and assembly, inventory product care, as well as participating in regular location inventories.
Essential Job Duties:
- Prepare house-made food items for companies retail locations, and catering operations according to standardized recipes, and maintain seasonal par levels
- Execute successful catering orders for companies retail and commissary kitchen locations
- Ensure proper stock rotation and product care; document production and shrink logs
- Assist with weekly and monthly formal product inventory counts
- Ensure that walk-ins, freezers, and all food prep areas are kept clean and organized
- Maintain a safe, sanitary and professional work environment; learn, understand and follow all city, state, federal and companies food safety regulations and/or guidelines and standards; adherence to HACCP protocol
- Perform daily cleaning duties, in addition to weekly cleaning projects (ex. drains, walls, floors, garbage cans, etc.)
- Clean and sanitize production equipment, work surfaces, and kitchen
- Adhere to proper food and sanitation protocols
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- 1+ years experience working in a restaurant, prep kitchen or equivalent
- Demonstrated knowledge of kitchen conduct; excellent knife skills, and food safety handling
- Strong attention to detail
- Must be focused and organized
- Able to prioritize projects effectively
- Open availability - able to work days and/or night shifts
- Excellent verbal and communication skills
- Illinois Food Handler Certificate required
Work Conditions:
- · Position requires prolonged standing, bending, stooping, twisting, lifting products and supplies weighing in excess of 50 pounds, and repetitive hand and wrist motion.
- · Ability to work at a fast pace, to stand for entire shift,
- Work in hot and cold temperatures; works with kitchen equipment as well as operates phones, computers, fax machines, copiers, and other office equipment.
