Server - Chicago, IL
Catering company based at The Hatchery located at 135 N. Kedzie has three types of clients: customers at our pop-up venues; guest at our client booked events and our delivery order customers. The server position is responsible for positive and memorable guest experience in a timely and friendly manner. At all times, servers are expected to be attentive to our guest needs and make them feel welcome, comfortable, important and relaxed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Pop-Up Venues
• Ensure packing and event checklists have been fulfilled prior to leaving Two Sisters Catering Location
• Setting up the booth or station that Two Sisters Catering is working once onsite
• Greet all attendees with a smile and deliver positive and memorable customer service
• Ensure all attendees understand what the sale price is for each item
• Upon completion of sale make sure each attendee has a business card, menu or rack card and that they have signed up on the email sheet
• Work the pop-up venue until your scheduled time and ensure you leave the location as you found it (clean and free of all debris)
Delivery or Staffed Events
• Ensure packing and event checklists have been fulfilled prior to leaving Two Sisters Catering Location
• Deliveries – Set up drop off buffet once onsite
• Staffed Events - Set up buffet area and/or stationary food items
• Staffed Events – Set up tables with tablecloths and place settings and arranging table placement
• Carrying plates of food on trays and serving guests
• Keep glasses filled; remove each round of plates and replenish utensils
• Perform cleaning tasks and breakdown of service
• Maintain high standards of safety and cleanliness
• Adhere to grooming and appearance standards
Qualification Requirements
• High School diploma or equivalent preferred
• A server MUST have their food handlers license or manager sanitation license
• Previous waitress, waiter or banquet server experience required
• Excellent oral communication and listening skills
• Ability to follow directions
• Excellent customer service skills
• A server MUST provide their own black pants, black socks and black shoes
Physical Demands and Abilities
• Must be able to read and understand simple instructions, memos and short correspondence.
• Must be able to respond to simple complaints or inquiries from customers, members of the business community, and/or regulatory agencies.
• Must be able to do simple arithmetic in all units of measure, using common fractions, whole numbers, and decimals. In fact, must be able to do simple mathematical calculations
• Frequently walking with some standing at times, possibly extended distances; ability to bend and climb stairs when necessary
• Frequently lift/carry up to 25 lbs. Occasionally lift/carry up to 50 lbs

• All staff that work a five-hour shift will be given lunch and water (free of charge)
• All staff will be provided with a uniform - White T-Shirt, Apron, Black Utility shirt and Black Mesh hat (each item will be provided free of charge)
• All Staff will be given a thermometer to have at each event – for purposes of checking the temperature of all food items
