What are We Looking For?
Food for Thought seeks a motivated and customer service oriented Steward to join FFT’s BOH Team at a Downtown Chicago Location. 

​What Does That Really Mean?
  • Communicates with all café staff to determine needs for clean tools, equipment, and service wares
  • Prioritizes washing of all café tools, equipment, and service wares according to café needs
  • Participates in café cleaning projects as needed
  • Puts away product from deliveries
  • Maintains cleanliness and organization of kitchen, storage and café seating areas
  • Performs opening and closing tasks
  • Keeps floors dry and clean to avoid slip/fall accidents
  • Participates in cross-training, moving supplies and equipment, cleaning up spills, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned

Are You THE ONE??
  • Good working knowledge of operating commercial ware-washing machines, dish washing and sanitation
  • Ability to grasp, lift and/or carry, or otherwise, move or push goods on a hand cart/truck weighing a maximum of 150 lbs.
  • Ability to stand and work continuously
  • Team player
  • Works with speed, consistency and organization
  • Proficient in the English language with good communication skills
  • Knowledgeable in food service sanitation standards, personal hygiene and safety
  • Food Handler Certification

Salary:
$13.00/hour
