Vision
The Hatchery Chicago® envisions a more prosperous West Side of Chicago that is home to successful and dynamic food and beverage entrepreneurs that are creating wealth and opportunity for their families and communities, prioritizing BIPOC, women, and West Side resident-owned businesses.
Mission
The Hatchery Chicago® enables local entrepreneurs to build and grow successful food and beverage businesses and provides job training and placement programs, which in turn create sustainable economic growth and new job opportunities.
Talking Points​
  • The Hatchery Chicago® helps grow food businesses that grow our community, removing barriers for entry from the food and beverage space for those located in and around Garfield Park.
  • The Hatchery Chicago® provides the space and training that entrepreneurs and workers need to create and retain wealth and jobs on Chicago’s West Side, with wraparound support, an entrepreneur-centric curriculum, and a community benefit agreement that awards no-cost access to coaching hours, shared kitchen time, and classes to business owners.
  • Since opening in 2019, The Hatchery Chicago® has helped an estimated 735 businesses create and retain <363 jobs and over $21 million in wealth on Chicago’s West Side.​
  • The entrepreneurial community in The Hatchery Chicago® is 60% consumer packaged goods (CPG), 20% baking, and 24% catering.
