Prep Specialists (2 Positions) - Chicago, IL
Evanston-based Vietnamese-inspired restaurant looking for enthusiastic and experienced Prep Specialists to help with their brand new operations at Dr. Murphy’s Food Hall, located at 1835 W Harrison in Chicago (Old Cook County Hospital). To support the food hall operations, Viet Nom Nom will also operate a commissary kitchen within The Hatchery, which is located at 135 N Kedzie. You will work primarily at The Hatchery. In the past 3 years, they opened their first storefront, expanded their catering and grab & go operations, and have also partnered with Northwestern University for a number of campus operations, including a stadium kiosk where they sell their food at every Wildcat football game!

General Responsibilities:
- Responsible for following recipes and prep lists and for the preparation of food, making sauces, stocks, entrees, and preparing catering orders.
- Make all food in a timely and efficient manner
- Greet and interact with customers as we serve and prepare food for them
- Valid driver’s license (a plus). Vehicle is provided.
- Maintain all health and sanitation standards
- Eligible and interested team members will have offsite opportunities including catering deliveries, and kiosk operations
Qualifications of a Good Team Member:
- Enjoys working on a team and in a fast-paced environment
- Food Handling Certificate a plus (able to get it within 30 days)
- Excellent communication and listening skills
- Strong time management and organization skills
- Be able to adapt to changing customer volume levels with a sense of urgency
- Proficient in utilizing kitchen equipment (knives, grill, ovens, processors, etc)
- Transport goods throughout the location, sometimes weighing up to 50 pounds
