In addition to representing and providing assistance to hundreds of companies in its community, ICNC owns and operates Make City, a small business incubator which houses 100 small business tenants in its 416,000 square foot facility.
ICNC also co-owns The Hatchery, a food and beverage manufacturing incubator in Chicago’s East Garfield Park neighborhood which assists food & beverage entrepreneurs grow their businesses. This facility is a one-stop-shop aiming to solve three major challenges in the industry: access to production space, financing, and resources.

POSITION ACTIVITIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
The Community Engagement Coordinator will act as an integral connector between all departments and entrepreneurs within the Make City and ICNC ecosystem. This role will be customer facing to ensure that all customer service excellence standards are upheld in order to provide outstanding customer experiences for our entrepreneurs, members, and tenants. The Community Engagement Coordinator will continue to build a strong entrepreneurial ecosystem by working closely with members and providing essential resources as well as meet ups to help accelerate success. This role will create, facilitate, and structure tracking to report overall incubation impact. This is a full-time position and reports to ICNC’s Chief Strategy & Incubation Officer.

POSITION ACTIVITIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee all membership support at the Make City incubator
- Create robust modules and SOPs for membership and community coordination at Make City
- Positively represent the organization and its mission
- Provide exceptional customer service and connect with new and existing members in a timely manner
- Set appropriate expectations with new and existing members
- Enhance and oversee the current membership platform
- Develop services and pathways for non-tenant, entrepreneur members
- Respond to all inbound inquiries and connect members to other departments as needed
- Schedule and participate in tenant onboarding and exit interviews
- Schedule and run Make City tenant Town Halls
- Conduct frequent check ins, collect and track important member news and data
- Construct, share, and collect Impact surveys with all members
- Share updates on classes, coaching opportunities, industry news, and tenant news/success stories with marketing team for promotion
- Research and develop streamlined documents for entrepreneurs including updates on regulation, tips for success, and more
- Develop a robust alumni and mentorship program
- Connect with alumni/incubator graduates and develop engagement opportunities
- Work with EA department to create and promote membership opportunities
- Identify additional support needed for incubator graduates
- Create a streamlined system to connect mentors with new startups
- Share resources and pathways to success with members
- Build relationships with entrepreneurs and track their successes
- Keep constant communication
- Capture feedback and testimonials
- Follow up to track experiences with coaches, classes, and resources
- Conduct Make City tours
- Support community events between both incubators (Make City & The Hatchery)
- Identify and build relationships with local community organizations (BACP etc...)
- Locate entrepreneurs in need of assistance within the community
- Enhance and organize tracking and vetting tools
- Facilitate meetups
- Develop an investor network
- Support budget development
- Input data into Neoserra and Salesforce
- Increase ICNC membership & engagement
- Track impact and apply learnings
- Perform other tasks as required
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in related field or five years of equivalent experience
- Experience teaching and/or instructing- classroom, students, and/or staff
- Ability to generate surveys and analyze data
- Strong PowerPoint development and presentation skills
- Entrepreneurial experience is a plus
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and building constructive relationships with a range of people are mandatory
- Positive, collaborative attitude with a passion for ICNC’s mission
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Able to work self-directed to meet established goals and deadlines
- Skilled coordinating a variety of projects simultaneously
- Willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends as needed
- High energy, outgoing, and pays attention to details
- Active listener who can relate well with all types of people, builds rapport, constructive and effective relationships
- Travel and use personal vehicle as necessary for work-related activities – mileage expenses are reimbursable
- Strong interpersonal, decision-making, and leadership skills

POSITION STRUCTURE & BENEFITS INCENTIVES
- This is a full-time, salaried position; Monday-Friday, 8:30am-5pm (with some evenings and weekends depending on events); with the ability to work remote 20% of work week
- Starting annual salary is $52-58K; commensurate with experience
